The Confederate sidewheel steamer Winslow also became grounded as she struck the submerged wreck (UFS), as she attempted to assist the stranded corvette Prony on 7 November 1861. Her wooden hull was smashed open and she became a casualty of the sunken Federal vessel. She was armed with a 32-pounder pivot cannon and a small brass six-pounder rifle that should remain on or near the wreck sites. While the three vessels, due to their proximity to shore are most likely sanded in, portions of the wrecks should protrude from the bottom and could be located; shifting sands may yield an interesting artifact such as the multitude of armament that the ships carried. The wreck should still reside within the offshore bar close to shore.
