Called the "Dirty Barge" due to the composition of the surrounding bottom, this site provides a haven for numerous black sea bass, tautog, and copious amounts of lobsters. Interestingly, the remains of this large steel barge collect vast quantities of surf clam shells, as well as silt and other debris, hence the name. The site generally has poor visibility due to the silt, averaging 15'. Additionally, a commercial spearfishermen who dove the site for a long period, related that they usually encountered numerous sharks which became a bit uncomfortable due to the low visibility.
