This weekend it was West Palm Beach and Boynton Beach for more critter action. The goliath grouper seemed to have dispersed on the MIZPAH-AMARYLLIS wreck corridor, but there were still 50+ on the wreck of the CASTOR and 20+ on the BECKS...

I recently had the opportunity to head out on the ULTIMATE GETAWAY to observe the reefing of the USCGC MOHAWK (WPG-78) northwest of Ft. Myers. Below are some images of the sinking and first dive on the wreck taken on July 2, 2012.

VOLUME I: ATLANTIC COAST
Volume I of the Encyclopedia of Florida Shipwrecks includes over 1,300 indexed entries on Florida shipwrecks, which also details all major artificial reefs (vessels, excluding barges), between the Georgia-Florida border, south to the Monroe County border. This work, spanning almost 320 pages, also includes more than 330 archival and underwater images, and 1,000 Atlantic coast shipwreck coordinates, and is the most comprehensive and accurate accounting of Florida shipwrecks available.
